"Svarga is the temporary paradise, in Indra's heaven on Mount Meru, a place for righteous souls who have performed good deeds in their lives.

Just before World War II, Marcello had found himself in a situation where many people were looking for his services / abilities. Through his travels abroad and his work at Arjuna in Ullevål Hageby, he had become a well-known, dear, and respected person. He felt an ever-increasing need for peace of mind in his daily work and more time for the activities he felt were necessary to go the right way towards his next life. He therefore moved to a new "soul place" - Svarga, and continued his business from there. Svarga's location and surroundings gave Marcello greater opportunities for further development, inner peace and harmony. Here he built his own temples, Upper and Lower Svarga, storehouse, several other temples and main house - all as a framework around a large yard that asked for pleasant company and rewarding exchange of opinions.

 

His daily walks in the area around Svarga with regular stops for meditation, picking herbs, conversations about life with friends and family not only built around the tranquility Marcello so badly needed, but also provided daily exercise and strength to endure a long and demanding working day. In his work at Svarga, the "café" stood out as a cozy and necessary place for all those who sought Marcello's help. Here, Marcello's mother and later his sister Inga with their daughter Borghild stood for simple serving, delivery of prescribed herbs, tinctures, etc.

 

In addition to the café operation, Marcello had his three assistants, Karen, Agnes and Øyvind, to help with the daily operation. This included to keep track of countless telephone inquiries from around the world, to cook for the number of people who would eat there at any given time, necessary internal and external maintenance, purchasing, planning, etc. Without such a device in the back, Marcello would not have been able to put so much traces of him as he truly did. So many have later stated that they felt personally welcome and very well received at Svarga by Marcello and everyone else who had their work there.

The direct meaning of Svarga is: "Heaven as a place you can get to after death". Marcello lived on Svarga from 1940 until his death in 1967. He rarely traveled outside Svarga and spent most of his time meditating and giving spiritual guidance to people, helping people with their health problems, or giving advice on other types of problems.
